Individual Therapy
Evidence-based therapy tailored for adults seeking meaningful, lasting change.
Finding Clarity and Building Change That Lasts
Many people reach a point where what used to work no longer does. You might notice old patterns resurfacing—overworking, withdrawing, or numbing feelings—without knowing why. Maybe you’ve been feeling stuck, disconnected, or caught between who you’ve been and who you want to become. These moments can be confusing and discouraging, but they’re also invitations to understand yourself in a deeper way.
Therapy offers a space to slow down and make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. Together, we identify the patterns that keep you from feeling grounded, fulfilled, or connected, and build the skills to move toward lasting change.
An Integrative, Evidence-Based Approach
My work combines evidence-based methods with a human, relational focus. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and relational psychodynamic principles, allowing for a balance of structure and exploration. Every session is tailored to your goals, helping you strengthen emotional flexibility, reduce avoidance and shame, and cultivate insight that supports meaningful growth.
This approach is trauma-informed and compassionate. Whether you’re navigating recovery, stress, or a major life transition, therapy provides a space that honors both your history and your potential for change.
How Individual Therapy Can Help
Clients often begin therapy feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or disconnected from their values. Some notice heightened anxiety, irritability, or a sense of burnout. Others describe struggling with relationships, motivation, or self-criticism.
Over time, therapy can help you:
Feel more emotionally grounded and less reactive
Improve communication and strengthen relationships
Develop greater awareness of your needs and values
Reduce patterns of avoidance, perfectionism, or overcontrol
Build tools for regulating emotions, cravings, and stress
Reconnect with purpose and self-compassion
Areas of Focus
While therapy is always tailored to the individual, I commonly support adults working through:
Trauma recovery and post-traumatic stress — understanding how past experiences shape current responses and building tools for safety and trust.
Anxiety and mood concerns — addressing worry, rumination, or emotional numbing through practical and experiential strategies.
Relationship patterns — increasing awareness of attachment, boundaries, and communication.
Substance use and recovery — developing insight, emotional regulation, and healthier coping patterns.
Identity and life transitions — exploring meaning, belonging, and purpose during periods of change or uncertainty.
Burnout and stress-related issues — cultivating balance, flexibility, and self-care practices that last.
What to Expect In Individual Therapy
Therapy is an active, collaborative process. In our first sessions, we’ll clarify your goals and explore the patterns shaping your current experiences. You don’t have to arrive with perfectly defined goals—clarity develops through conversation. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable, blending reflective discussion with practical tools for daily life.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” who you are; it’s about making sense of your experiences and learning how to respond to them differently. My role is to offer both structure and curiosity: guiding you toward practical change while helping you understand the deeper layers of your behavior and emotions. Some clients find value in shorter-term work focused on specific goals, while others prefer longer-term therapy to explore patterns more deeply. Over time, clients often describe feeling clearer, more resilient, and better able to live in alignment with their values.
Getting Started With Melantha Health
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step—especially if you’ve tried before or aren’t sure what to expect. The first step is simply a brief conversation to get to know one another and see whether we’re a good fit to work together. You’ll have space to share what’s bringing you in and what you hope to gain, and I’ll answer any questions about availability, format, or next steps.
If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule an initial session to get to know each other, clarify your goals, and discuss how therapy can best support you. For new clients, I generally recommend starting with in-person meetings when possible, as it helps us build a stronger foundation for our work together.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out—therapy is designed to help with that.
